Janice Lee Arnold, M.D., is a board certified urologist with 20 years of practice in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. area. She received a B.S. degree in biology and graduated with honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics where she was Chief Resident.

Dr. Arnold has served on the National Advisory Panel for Prostate Cancer for the American Cancer Society at its national office in Atlanta, Georgia, and has served as Chairman of the Department of Urology at Reston Hospital Center. She is on the Cancer Committee there also. She served on the Loudoun County Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Medical Society and the National Society of Women in Urology.

Dr. Arnold's area of expertise is lower urinary tract disorders involving the prostate and urinary bladder. She is one of the area's leading specialists in the treatment of urinary incontinence. She has been featured on a nationally televised prostate cancer special "Prostate Cancer: Are you at Risk" with General Colin Powell and Senator Robert Dole. She has also appeared at the United States Capitol as a guest speaker to help raise awareness and promote research funding of prostate cancer.

Dr. Arnold is often an invited speaker at various metropolitan D.C. community activities to educate the public about this disease. She was featured in the January 3, 2002 Washington Post Newspaper for years of volunteer service with the local chapter of the American Cancer Society to promote awareness and early detection of prostate cancer. Dr. Arnold is a recipient of the 2002 distinguished "Best Of Reston" award for Outstanding Community Service in the area of prostate cancer awareness and screening. She received the first ever SWIU-Pfizer award for community service in men's health in May 2004 at the annual American Urological Association meetings in San Francisco, California.

Dr. Arnold recently served as the President of the national "Society of Women in Urology" (2003-2004) and was on the Advisory Council for the National Association for Continence (2005-2006). The American Board of Urology has asked her to serve for four years on the Advisory Council at the National Institutes of Health; an appointment confirmed by the Department of Health and Human Services and the President of the United States.

Dr. Arnold's urologic interests include urinary bladder disorders (male and female), complex female pelvic floor reconstruction, and prostate disorders.
